Natalia was born in the State of Mexico, in the outskirts of Mexico City, and was a few days old when her parents received the news that she had a heart murmur that required surgical intervention.
Eduardo, Natalia’s father, remembers the anguish they experienced having to wait for medical attention: “Two months passed and they had already told us that Nati needed an operation and, since there are many children in Mexico City, depending on the cases is how they are accommodated.” Eventually, they secured a spot on a waiting list, however, Natalia’s family had plans to relocate to Baja California Sur due to her father’s work.
As soon as they arrived in La Paz, they contacted the State Pediatric Cardiology Program at Salvatierra Hospital, where Natalia began her medical journey. Eduardo comments: “The treatment was spectacular, from start to finish; the care here was consistently supportive.”
A month after her initial appointment, Natalia underwent surgery performed by the local medical team that offers permanent, quality care to Children and Adolescents who, like Natalia, require immediate treatment or procedures to regain their health or save their lives.

“There are times when, out of ignorance, you feel alone, because you don’t know where to go. They talk to you about very long operations, machines to pump blood… arriving at this foundation is like feeling welcomed, you no longer feel alone, because you talk with someone, you get to know people in the same situation, and you build a community where you become empathetic. The result is here, I am seeing my baby healthy, happy, content, with a very good life.” Natalia’s father told us with a big smile.

Today, Natalia can enjoy her childhood thanks to the surgery she received. The power of your love transforms your investment into hope for families, like Natalia’s, granting them access to health services that significantly improve their quality of life.
